Job Description
What we are looking for :
We are seeking a highly skilled horticultural professional who can deliver expert technical leadership in the maintenance and presentation of Council’s cemeteries. This role suits an experienced tradesperson or horticulturalist with the capability to set and uphold high groundskeeping standards, operate complex plant and machinery at full productive capacity, and proactively manage logistics to support the smooth and respectful delivery of funeral services. A strong focus on quality, efficiency, and attention to detail is essential to ensure cemetery environments consistently meet Council standards and community expectations.

What you will bring :
You will bring a practical, can-do attitude with strong horticultural skills that help keep Council cemeteries well presented, safe, and respected by the community. Your experience in turf management, chemical application, and general garden maintenance will support high visual standards and consistent quality outcomes. You will confidently operate and care for machinery, support team members with technical guidance, and take initiative to organise services and minor repairs to keep work running smoothly.
With a focus on results, you will help set and achieve maintenance targets, ensure sites meet Council quality standards, and maintain infrastructure so facilities remain reliable and functional. You will work safely, follow Council policies, manage daily tasks with minimal supervision, and adapt to a range of duties as needed—bringing reliability, teamwork, and pride in delivering a professional service every day.
Must Have: Current National Criminal History Check; Working with Children clearance (Ochre Card), Current MR Class Licence to be able to drive in the Northern Territory.
Please note:Acurrent National Police Clearance, issued within the last six (6) months, is an essential requirement for this position.
