What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a proactive, organised, and hands‑on facilities professional who takes pride in maintaining high‑quality community spaces. This role suits someone who can confidently coordinate day‑to‑day maintenance, manage contractors and staff, oversee minor capital works, and ensure Council facilities are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver planned and responsive maintenance programs, contribute to budget planning, and support long‑term asset management. A strong focus on communication, problem‑solving, and workplace health and safety is essential, along with the ability to balance operational tasks while supporting the needs of a diverse range of community facilities.

What You Will Bring
You will bring proven experience in facilities maintenance, including air conditioning systems, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will have experience preparing and managing maintenance budgets, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and the capability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment. A strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements is essential, as is the ability to ensure contractors maintain safe working practices. You will also be comfortable undertaking basic administrative tasks such as monthly reporting and raising purchase orders, and hold a current C Class driver’s licence to operate within the Northern Territory. Experience in maintaining aquatic facilities or public sport and recreation amenities, as well as a building trades background, will be highly regarded.
Must Have: Current National Criminal History Check, Current C-class driver’s license to be able to drive in NT
