Job Description
What we are looking for: We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused professional to be the welcoming face of our Regional Waste Management Facility. This role is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact by championing recycling and sustainability initiatives within the Alice Springs community. You will deliver exceptional front-line service at the Rediscovery Centre and Weighbridge, ensuring a smooth, friendly, and efficient experience for every customer. With a sharp eye for detail, you will accurately inspect and process loads, manage POS transactions with precision, and actively contribute to the presentation and marketing of quality recyclable products. Your commitment to safety, teamwork, and service excellence will help drive Council’s vision of a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.

What You'll Bring
We're seeking a reliable operator with hands-on experience using heavy machinery like compactors and forklifts in a waste management or similar setting. You’ll bring a strong safety mindset, a solid understanding of waste processes, and the ability to keep equipment running through routine maintenance. Clear communication and teamwork are key, but you’ll also be confident working independently in a dynamic environment. Flexibility is important—you’ll be available for part-time hours, including weekends when needed.
