Job Description

What We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Project and Development Coordinator to manage development applications and associated works within Council’s road reserves, while supporting project delivery across the Directorate. This role requires a candidate with strong capabilities in procurement, project coordination, reporting, and stakeholder engagement, who can act as a central point of contact to ensure effective information flow and successful delivery of projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience coordinating approvals, monitoring compliance, and managing multiple priorities, while maintaining strong communication with internal teams, external agencies, contractors, and the community. Attention to detail, sound problem-solving skills, and the ability to contribute to continuous improvement of processes and systems will be essential, along with a commitment to safety, governance, and high-quality service delivery.

Desired Skills and Experience

What You Will Bring:

You are a reliable and organised professional with experience in project coordination and development processes, ideally within a local government or similar environment. You understand how to manage approvals, permits, and compliance requirements, and can confidently handle multiple tasks at the same time. You have strong administrative and time management skills, allowing you to keep projects on track and meet deadlines.

You communicate clearly, build positive relationships with stakeholders, and provide great customer service. You are comfortable using Microsoft Office and other systems, and you bring a proactive, can-do attitude to support successful project delivery.

Must Have: Current valid police clearance, Current C class driver’s license to be able to drive in the NT, Relevant tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Local Government, Business Administration, or a related discipline; or  Demonstrated relevant experience (typically 3–5 years) applying and interpreting policies, procedures, and governance frameworks while coordinating projects, permits, or service delivery activities within a similar environment, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and practical experience.
