Job Description
What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join our Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Council's accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring the accurate processing of financial transactions and maintaining the integrity of financial records. Working in a modern, automated finance environment, you will use your technical expertise and sound judgement to resolve complex transactions, support end-of-month and end-of-year processes, prepare financial reports, and provide specialist advice on creditor and debtor matters. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong analytical skills, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders while delivering exceptional customer service.

What You Will Bring:
You're a finance professional who thrives on accuracy, organisation, and delivering great service. Bringing experience in financial services, bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar role, you'll have the confidence to manage accounts payable and receivable functions, maintain general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, and contribute to high-quality financial reporting. Your strong numeracy skills, proficiency with ERP systems and Excel, and keen eye for detail will enable you to identify issues, solve problems, and keep financial processes running smoothly. You'll be a proactive and adaptable team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships across the organisation while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Most importantly, you'll bring initiative, strong time management, and a commitment to delivering accurate and efficient financial outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Must have: Qualification in Business Administration, Financial Services, Accounts Administration or Accounting and Bookkeeping, and/or suitable equivalent experience Current National Criminal History check (less than 6 months old).
