Job Description
What we are looking for :
We are looking for an enthusiastic and community-minded individual to join the Alice Springs Public Library team and help shape a welcoming space where people connect, learn, and thrive. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of the library, delivering outstanding customer service, assisting with everything from circulation to community information, and ensuring every visitor has a positive experience. You’ll also play a key role in weekend operations, supporting casual staff, coordinating urgent issues, and keeping things running smoothly. What you will bring :
You will bring a passion for connecting with people and delivering exceptional customer service to a diverse community. Confident in all aspects of library operations—from shelving and item circulation to assisting with references and providing community information—you will also be comfortable guiding customers with digital tools and software. With strong problem-solving skills, time management, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, you’ll contribute to a positive, welcoming library environment. Holding a current Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card) and capable of performing Warden Evacuation duties, you’ll help ensure the library is a safe, vibrant, and engaging hub for the Alice Springs community.
Must Have: Current National Criminal History Check; Working with Children clearance (Ochre Card).
