Job Description

What we are looking for :

Are you passionate about connecting communities and bringing art to life? Join the Alice Springs Council as our Community Engagement and Arts Officer, where you’ll be at the heart of building meaningful relationships between Council and the local community. In this role, you’ll lead innovative engagement strategies, drive inspiring public art projects, and play a key part in shaping the cultural landscape of Alice Springs. If you’re a proactive, creative, and collaborative professional with a flair for communication, project management, and community impact, this is your chance to make a real difference while showcasing your skills on a vibrant, public stage.

You bring a proven track record in delivering engaging community initiatives and unforgettable events, with exceptional communication skills that build lasting relationships with stakeholders. Highly organised and adaptable, you thrive juggling multiple priorities while leading public art and placemaking projects from vision to reality, on time and within budget. You’re a problem-solver with a passion for continuous improvement, digitally savvy, and ready to step up for evening meetings, after-hours events, and Council functions—making a real impact on the cultural and community life of Alice Springs.

Must Have: Tertiary qualifications in Community Development, Social Sciences, or related field, Current National Criminal History check.
