Job Description
The opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Team Member – Playgrounds and Reactive Team to support the Team Leader – Playgrounds and Reactive Team in leading a work crew responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of playground equipment in accordance with Australian Standards. This role also includes performing general horticultural tasks across Council parks, ovals, and associated facilities.
Your responsibilities include assisting with the planning, coordinating, and supervising of the Playgrounds and Reactive Team, carrying out installation and maintenance work on Council equipment, and performing various horticultural tasks such as mowing, spraying, and turf care.
Demonstrated ability to assist with the planning, co-ordination and supervision of a range of activities undertaken by the work team.
Ability to effectively construct, maintain and repair of recreational equipment,parks and gardens to Australian standards.
Ability to provide technical advice and on-the-job training regarding construction, maintenance and repair of recreational equipment, as required.
Ability to operate and maintain a broad range of plant and equipment to a safe and competent standard, and identify any necessary repairs.
Ability to identify and remove weeds, pests and diseases and eradicate the through the use of pesticides.
Ability to work unsupervised following instructions and procedures, including keeping accurate daily work records and reporting any issues to supervisor.
Ability to write and interpret reports and work plans.
Ability to do physical work in all weather and in a safe manner as part of a team.
Demonstrate a professional attitude and display respect to general public and other Council employees.
Current LR Class Licence to be able to drive in the Northern Territory
Current Ochre card or ability and willingness to obtain
