Job Description
The opportunity
We are seeking a Team Member – Ovals and Parks Maintenance to join the Ovals and Parks Maintenance Team within Municipal Services. This position is responsible for carrying out a range of horticultural activities specifically related to the maintenance of Council’s ovals, parks, and reserves. The role involves ensuring safety compliance while contributing to the upkeep of public spaces, including fertilising, mowing, trimming, edging, and tree pruning across ovals, parks, reserves, drains, verges, and laneways.
Your responsibilities include identifying and removing weeds, pests, and diseases using appropriate pesticides and herbicides; safely operating and maintaining machinery such as front deck mowers, edgers, and whipper-snippers; working independently while following instructions; maintaining accurate daily work records and promptly reporting any issues or required repairs to the team leader or supervisor; and demonstrating a professional attitude with respect for the general public and fellow Council employees
