Desired Skills and Experience

What You’ll Bring to the Role

You’re a real-life superhero in swim fins — passionate, practical, and people-focused. You love helping others thrive and bring a calm, confident presence to every lesson.

  • You’re an experienced instructor, confident teaching swimming and water safety or leading aqua aerobics for all ages and abilities.

  • You’re a thoughtful coach, able to assess progress and tailor development plans that build skills and confidence.

  • You’re a natural communicator, building strong relationships with teammates, families, and the wider community.

  • You’re approachable and organised, with great interpersonal skills and solid computer literacy. You listen well and respond with care.

  • You’re safety-minded, supervising patrons and handling situations calmly and professionally, in line with Royal Life Saving practices.

  • You’re a role model, educating users about aquatic safety and respectful behaviour in a firm but friendly way.

  • You’re flexible and reliable, happy to work early mornings, evenings and weekends — because you love being part of the action.
